About DEAREST 2012…
an experiment in handwriting
My inspiration for the 2012 project comes from the mystery of how it would feel to be in a room with only handwritten letters.
I wanted raw. Beauty. Realness. The time and space romance of writing.
To experiment, I mailed an invite in 2010 to everyone in my address book asking people to respond in handwriting.
Over the next two years I received over 40 poems, letters, sketches & copies of letters. They were gorgeous. Handwriting does something to the heart. It affects us profoundly.
